Yummy Mummy Body Conditioner review: "Gorgeous"

Yummy Mummy (£19.95/240g) was a newly released addition to the Mothers Day range this year (2015).  It was brand new, hadn't been released before and in my opinion, made the entire Mothers Day Collection.  Partnered up with it's counterpart Yummy Mummy shower gel, this is a beautiful combination for Mothers everywhere.  And "mothers" like me.  Who have dogs.  Fish.  Stuffed toys.  You get the idea.

Personally, I feel the shower gel and the body conditioner don't share the same fragrance.  Albeit there are great similarities - I find the body conditioner smells more toward the Honey I Washed range rather than strawberries, instead of a brand new product fragrance.  When smelt from the pot - I'd say this does indeed smell like strawberry juice.  And why wouldn't it?  The product does contain it.  However, when you use this in the shower the scent of it changes.  It dies down and mirrors Honey I Washed the Kids soap, It's Raining Men etc.  I don't know why it does but it does.

I found this body conditioner a little different to Lush's all year rounders - African Paradise and Ro's Argan - and it could maybe be the Murumuru butter.  Unlike the other two body conditioners, Yummy Mummy does not immediately attach to the skin when spread.  Instead I'd say it glides across the skin kind of like a buttercream (Heavenly Bodies from the Lush Kitchen).  It takes a couple of seconds to attach and sink into the skin, where it becomes liquid across the body, and looks a lot like milk.  It becomes much thinner compared to African Paradise and Ro's Argan.   However this doesn't limit this products outcome.  Yummy Mummy is a really, really nourishing body conditioner which leaves a conditioned film over the body.  And with the fact I don't usually wash them off since I looooove my conditioners - its so moisturising you can actually rub the oils into your skin like they were from a massage bar.

Its fragrance is insanely good - almost good enough to eat.  In the pot it smells so fresh and fruity, and the butters and oils increase this smell even more.  When used in the shower it changes to a caramel fragrance and that is what is left on the skin too.  It's a really sweet smelling product and is a refreshing difference from the spicy African Paradise and the rosy floral Ro's Argan.  I love my sweet scents and welcome them with open arms and that is why this is now my favourite body conditioner.  Although it works slightly different, the difference isn't huge and its outcome is just the same.  Maybe even better because it smells GORGEOUS.

The benefits of the body conditioner come from the two butters: cocoa butter and murumuru butter.  Cocoa butter soothes, softens and conditions the skin and Murumuru butter moisturises and protects the skin.  These two butters working together in this pot of goodness makes this more than yummy.  And your skin should certainly feel it with hydrating Almond oil too.  With the added ingredient of strawberry juice, Yummy Mummy body conditioner promotes good healthy and good skin.  Strawberries are extremely healthy as they contain vitamins, folic acid, powerful antioxidants and so much more goodness.   Just knowing this is in Yummy Mummy makes me feel more confident about the product's effectiveness.  AND fun fact! Did you know Strawberries contain more Vitamin C per weight than oranges do? Cool stuff.

If you've missed out on Yummy Mummy you have my deepest apologies and virtual hugs because you've missed something great.  I do expect this to come back in 2016 and I'll be so disappointed if it isn't brought about again.

  1. Sadly it's not back this year and I am very disappointed as this body conditioner is a million times nicer than African Paradise and Ro's Argan.
